Q:  What are the hours of operation of HAIC?
A:   Monday-Friday 8a.m.-4p.m.  A convenient drop box is available to the left of our entrance door for anyone that needs to drop off paperwork or rent payments after normal business hours.

Q:  Where am I on the waiting list?
A:  It depends on your income and family composition but typically it will take 6-12 months before your name will reach the top of the waiting list.  You will be notified by mail when this happens, so be sure that you keep an updated address on file with us at all times.

Q:  Do you provide emergency housing?
A:  No, we do not have any emergency housing available.  You must fill out an application and be placed on a         waiting list.  You may want to check with ICCAP at 724-465-2657, sometimes they do have emergency housing available.

Q:  What paperwork must I bring in with me to fill out an application?
A:  The application is very brief and you are not required to bring in any paperwork at the time of the initial application.  Once your name is at the top of the waiting list, you will be notified by mail.  At that time you will be required to bring in Social Security Cards and Birth Certificates for all household members.  You will also need to provide verification of all income for anyone over 18 years of age that is in the household.  If you do not have this documentation now is the time to gather it together so that when your name gets to the top of the list you will not have any further delays by not having your paperwork in order.

Q:  How long is the lease?

A:  One full year.  After the first initial year you are on a month-to-month basis.  You must give a 30-day written notice to move once you have fulfilled your initial one-year lease.

Q:  Can I have a pet?

A:  Yes, but an extra deposit of $150 and a fee of $100 are required along with the signing of a pet policy.  Please verify with a Housing Authority representative before moving any pets into an apartment.

Q:  Where is your office located?
A:  We are located at 104 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA 15701.  Philadelphia Street is the main street through downtown Indiana; follow Philadelphia Street until you reach the 100 block.  You will see our sign in front of the building.
